Yeast Waffles

Ingredients Instructions

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups milk

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast

  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

  1. Melt butter in pan, then turn off heat and add milk.
  2. Add maple syrup, salt, vanilla, and eggs.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour and yeast. (This keeps the yeast from clumping when you add it to the liquid.)
  4. Heat the milk mixture to baby bottle temperature, then remove from heat.
  5. Mix in flour/yeast mixture. It is not necessary to remove all lumps.
  6. Put pot in fridge overnight. The batter will rise!
  7. In the morning, cook in a waffle iron.
