Chocolate Drop Cookies

This recipe comes from my grandmother, Myrna Beach.

Ingredients

Cookies:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 one-ounce squares unsweetened baker's chocolate, melted
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

Cookies:

  1. Oven: 350
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Add egg, vanilla, and chocolate. Blend well.
  4. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  5. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  7. While warm, frost.

Frosting:

  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 6 tablespoons hot coffee
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Frosting:

  1. Mix.
